Our take
The Numark Scratch is a no-frills mixer that gets the job done for Serato DJ Pro. The built-in effects are decent—echo and filter are my go-tos. The 3-band EQ is responsive, and the layout is intuitive. I like that it's purely analog, keeping things simple. However, the build feels a bit plasticky, and the faders could be smoother. At $499, it's reasonably priced for a Serato-ready mixer, but you might want to budget for a better crossfader if you scratch heavily. Also, the lack of digital I/O may feel dated. Solid for intermediate DJs, but not for pros.
