About this product
The Pioneer DJ DDJ-REV7 is a professional 2-channel scratch-style controller designed for Serato. It features a double deck layout with 16 pads, jog wheel illumination, and built-in effects including loop/sampler and delay. With 2 mic inputs, 2 phono inputs, and 2 line inputs, it offers extensive connectivity via XLR and Mini-XLR. The tabletop form factor is sturdy, and the unit is made in Japan.
Our take
The DDJ-REV7 is a beast for serious Serato users. The jog wheels feel incredible—responsive and smooth for scratching. Having 16 pads gives plenty of room for cue points and loops. The built-in effects like loop and delay are handy, though the selection isn't enormous. I appreciate the multiple inputs; I can plug in two turntables and mics without hassle. Build quality is top-notch, as expected from Pioneer. The only downside? The price is steep at over $2k, making it a luxury for all but dedicated pros. Also, it's Serato-only, so if you switch software, you're out of luck.
